The story tells of a righteous king named Dyutiman, who ruled the city of Bhadravati. Although the king was virtuous, his son Dhrishtabuddhi became deeply involved in sinful activities such as gambling, bad association, and immoral behavior. Due to his degraded life, he was eventually rejected by his family and forced to wander in the forest. By great fortune, he met the sage Kaundinya Muni, who compassionately instructed him to observe Mohini Ekadashi with sincerity and devotion. Following the sage’s guidance, Dhrishtabuddhi fasted, engaged in remembrance of the Lord, and purified his consciousness.
