About the event
Suresvara dasa Vanacari joined the Hare Krishna movement in July 1970. He received 1st & 2nd initiations in 1971 and 1972 while serving in New Vrindaban. Over the years Suresvara's service has revolved around Srila Prabhupada's books--reading and studying them since 1970, distributing them since 1972, indexing them at the BBT (1976-1980),writing articles based on them since 1979, and teaching from them in Sridham Mayapur (2009-2016). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from Hawaii Pacific University (2006).
In 2011, while teaching at the Mayapur Institute, Suresvara’s concern over how distant many younger devotees were from Srila Prabhupada reached a tipping point, so that spring he conceived and began researching a seminar series he would call “Srila Prabhupada, Our Founder-Acarya.” With the blessings of the GBC’s Strategic Planning Network, Suresvara has been presenting his founder-acarya seminars around the ISKCON world ever since.
